The Book of Remembrance. A love story that began in the junior year of high school. It developed and grew to be a life story. And then with the sudden death of liz, larry describes the roller coaster ride of emotions he experienced. After the sudden death of lizzy “as I finish this, I almost question if it is a “book” (The Book of Remembrance) or if it is more of a “soliloquy.” The dictionary definition of a soliloquy is; “speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself, regardless of any hearers.” I will make my adjustment to that definition; in this case, it is me writing about my thoughts, ramblings, poems, and revelation of my heart’s adventure in the journey called life. As I travel down the rocky road of death, grief, sorrow, and recovery. Furthermore, this is one of the best books on grief.
REV. LARRY W. PETTIT, TH.M-
After reading. Death in the Parsonage my reactions were varied between sadness, depression, and happiness in having known this remarkable lady. This truly is a love story few people experience. The book portrays well the differences in the loss of those we love. Losing a spouse is much different than losing your parents, siblings, or others. The loss of a spouse has to be experienced to be understood. In times like this, the one left behind must lean hard on God for strength and courage to go on. June Departee, Nampa, Id. She gave it 4 stars.
Each of us will face this in our life, (death). I have many times even the loss of my son. It helps to understand the different phases of death. The loss, tears, unbelief, empty alone feelings, the sorrow, and so many feelings. And then the recovery! “Everyone should read this book.” She gave it 5 stars.

A very emotional read to journey alongside the emotions after the death of a loved one.
What helps is knowing there actually is a light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Enduring the death of a loved one happens at some point in life. Reading another's journey through it helps one process the pain , know that your not alone in this pain as it is a universal experience and it gives hope that you can make it through to breathe and live again.
One moment, one day at a time.
The reason for 4 stars rather then 5 is because I would have liked more details regarding some life experiences that were mentioned in his story and there was some repetitiveness.
A heart felt journey.....
This is a brutally honest journey through the process of losing and grieving a beloved spouse.
Theirs was a true love story and even though his wife passed away abruptly, their love story continues and as hard as the grief process is, there is HOPE. Hope for a better tomorrow and the JOY of knowing he will see his Liz again in heaven one day.
